Ansys Workbench

A unified platform for Ansys simulation products

An Integrated User Interface and Platform for Single and Multiphysics Simulation

Ansys Workbench makes it easier to make more informed design choices by coordinating all simulation data in one place.

It is included with all physics-based Ansys software bundles and automatically connects them so data communicates seamlessly, integrating across engineering simulations to create more accurate models more efficiently.

Need to see how stress analysis and fluid flow interact? Or how thermal affects the reliability of electronics systems? The Ansys Workbench platform lets you observe different physics simultaneously, passing data back and forth between simulations. If something changes in one simulation, you’ll see it across all.

  • Easily manage data across all your Ansys products
  • Integrate multiple analyses within a single interface
  • Save time with automated data transfer
  • Create higher fidelity models

°®¶¹´«Ã½app Interoperability

Ansys Workbench’s °®¶¹´«Ã½app interoperability allows users to use their existing, native °®¶¹´«Ã½app geometry without changing to other geometry formats.

Since Ansys Workbench is °®¶¹´«Ã½app-neutral, it supports bidirectional, directional, and associative interfaces with all major °®¶¹´«Ã½app systems.

External data

Ansys Workbench offers an easy-to-use method to import external data that may have been simulated with a product that is not an Ansys product.

A range of loads can be imported, including pressure, temperature, displacement, and much more. These loads are efficiently mapped to 2D and 3D to ensure no error with misalignment, non-matching units, or scaling.

Materials

A range of material models covering everything from hyperelastics, shape-memory alloys, soils, concrete, plastic and metallic structures can be accurately modeled in Ansys Mechanical.

You can also add user-defined material models if needed. Ansys Granta Materials Data for Simulation provides instant access to the materials property data you need, eliminating data search time and input errors. Material Designer can easily create representative volume elements (RVE’s) based around lattice, fiber, weave, or user-created geometries to facilitate multiscale modeling of complex material structures.

System Coupling / Fluid Structure Interaction

Ansys Workbench has automated, easy-to-use solutions to simulate fluid-structure interaction (FSI) problems accurately and efficiently.

Modeling approaches can vary depending on the level of FSI occurring, but Ansys Workbench has solutions for both one-way and two-way coupling. A simple drag-and-drop task will directly link your CFD and FEA analysis to transfer and map loads for one-way coupling. One-way coupling simulations can easily be transformed into two-way coupling using the System Coupling component with the same drag and drop approach.

Design Exploration

Design exploration capabilities are directly embedded into the Workbench environment, allowing you to create a design of experiments, response surface, six sigma analysis, and more.

Parameters and variables can easily be added or edited from the Ansys Workbench interface to the objectives and constraints you have for your simulation. Once your simulation is run, you can easily drag and drop component systems on the parameters you specified to create a response surface, sensitivity analysis and more, to reach the optimal design.

Product Integrations

A wide range of Ansys products are accessible directly through the Ansys Workbench interface/environment. This allows a streamlined workflow from °®¶¹´«Ã½app to pre-processing to post-processing and optimization.

All products are accessible through the simplicity of a drag-and-drop feature enabling you to use a product as a standalone system. Or use the innovative project schematic that ties together multiple products through the entire simulation process.

Remote Solve Manager and HPC

The Remote Solve Manager (RSM) is a job queueing system that enables users to submit a job to local, remote, or distributed computing resources.

RSM allows you to take advantage of the power of HPC by using more computing power than you might have on your desktop or laptop computer. Even if the job is not solved on your workstation, you can still monitor the solution as it’s solving elsewhere.
