Within the °®¶¹´«Ã½app Group, we are growing the Global Centre of Excellence for Systems Engineering from within the UK, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Risk Management, Functional Safety and Reliability Analysis. We have been the dedicated UK channel partner for ReliaSoft for over 15 years – internationally recognized as the market-leading software for reliability analysis and management. We are also a long-term partner of PTC and Ansys, including the support of their ALM, MBSE and functional safety software, in addition to other systems engineering tools.

We provide extensive consulting services to support client objectives and strengthen their inhouse capabilities. We also deliver a wide range of systems engineering theory and software-based training courses to educate the next generation of engineers and reinforce best practice in industry.

What We Are Looking For

To support our strategic clients within this critical sector, we are looking to appoint a Senior Reliability Engineer initially focused on nuclear-related applications. In particular, the successful candidate will be embedded within a dedicated team, managed by °®¶¹´«Ã½app UK, for a national project currently at concept phase. More details can be provided at interview stage.

We are interested in both candidates already working within the nuclear sector and those from other industries who are interested in gaining experience in nuclear applications.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Relevant degree in an engineering, science or mathematics discipline or similar.
  • A minimum of 4 years knowledge and practical experience in a range of reliability techniques, such as:
    • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
    • Fault Tree Analysis
    • Failure Reporting Analysis Corrective Action Systems
    • Reliability Block Diagrams
    • Failure Rate and MTBF Calculations
    • Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present solutions clearly and convincingly to technical and non-technical audiences at a senior level.
  • Abilities to:
  • Manage projects, including other staff as required, to deliver on-time in accordance with our quality management system.
  • Manage data across teams, to ensure that the most up to date information is available and utilised.
  • Identify, engage and manage stakeholders across a range of project functions.
  • A Systems Engineering mindset, able to identify and model physical and organizational factors influencing reliability and safety of products and processes.
  • Self-motivated, ability to multi-task and with the drive to achieve objectives.
  • Confident, flexible and inclusive team-player who can solve problems with initiative.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Use of commercial reliability engineering and/or mathematical software.
  • Scoping project requirements and developing proposals.
  • Application of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Life Data Analysis (Weibull).
  • Design of Experiments.
  • Asset Management, Environmental Testing, Functional Safety and/or Cybersecurity.

Due to the nature of the project work, you will need to be a British National and be able to achieve the necessary security clearances.

As a company, we embrace hybrid and remote working as well as having offices in Manchester and Cambridge you may choose to use on occasion. Please note, for this immediate role within the nuclear industry, you will be required to work a minimum of 2 days per week on-site with our project team in Warrington or another suitable location as negotiated.
